Seaport Village, SD
A harborside-setting on the edge of downtown San Diego! This popular spot for shopping, dining, playing and just hanging out has been a success since its opening in 1980. Get beautiful views of the water as you wander the cobblestone pathways. Have a relaxing picnic on the grass-filled jetty - a great place to be during holiday celebrations as the boats leave their local port and head for the water to create festivals of light. There are fifty-seven specialty shops and four restaurants along with several small eateries. The architecture is cape-cod-shanty. Surrounded by trees and little grassy knolls the village is welcoming to all comers.
A boardwalk connects with two major hotels, the convention center and marina. This is a popular place for early morning joggers and Sunday afternoon strollers. Though much of the atmosphere borders on touristy - after all these years the locals still enjoy whiling away a sunny day with free, outdoor entertainment along with breathtaking views of the harbor.
